Game Three, 2011: Greg Inglis equals Shearer's Origin record of 12 tries
As has been the case almost too many times to count in his career to date, with a big game in the offing GI stepped up another level with a timely double to help Queensland secure a sixth straight series win 34-24 at Suncorp Stadium. Having missed the series opener through injury and been kept quiet during the previous outing on NSW turf, Inglis opened the Maroons' account in the 16th minute when he latched onto a cross field kick from Johnathan Thurston as the Queenslanders ran rampant for the next quarter of the match to lead 24-0 with halftime approaching. With the game and the series in the bag Inglis was also last to trouble the scorers, powering over the top of old sparring partner Mark Gasnier to equal Dale Shearer's long-standing Origin try-scoring record of 12 four-pointers in the interstate arena. And just for good measure GI equalled Shearer's tally in his 15th appearance, requiring two less matches than Shearer to reach the figure.
