74. Game Two, 1992: An Allan Langer field goal gives Queensland a 5–4 victory
Down 1-0 in the series and with prop Martin Bella and five-eighth Peter Jackson sin-binned by Bill Harrigan for backchat, Queensland found themselves well and truly up against it when the Blues travelled to Lang Park for Game 2 of the 1992 series. With a try to Maroons debutant Billy Moore being matched by two penalty goals from NSW winger Rod Wishart, scores were locked at 4-4 at halftime, and stayed that way until the 78th minute as both outfits muscled up in defence. With just 66 seconds remaining, little Alfie Langer stepped up to steer one of the wobblier drop punts you'll see through the sticks for the first field goal of his top grade career, and keep the Cane Toads alive heading into Game Three.
