The grand final rematch between South Sydney and the Bulldogs on Good Friday clash was one of, if not the, most controversial games of the season. A penalty against James Graham after a charge down on Adam Reynolds in the dying moments turned the game, with the fallout seeing David Klemmer sin-binned for dissent and Bryson Goodwin kicking the match-winning penalty goal. On top of that Graham, Klemmer and Sam Kasiano were all suspended in the aftermath while Tim Lafai, Brett Morris, Issac Luke and Reynolds were all injured by the end of the match. Meanwhile the Knights' undefeated start to the year ended abruptly against the Dragons in terrible Newcastle conditions. Three games headlined Easter Monday with Tiger Pat Richards stealing the show with a spectacular try-assisting kick to James Tedesco to seal his team's win over Parramatta. Rookie Shark Jack Bird emerged as a genuine star too after leading his team to an upset victory over the Roosters.
