Premium sports lifestyle brand ’47 will help the National Rugby League (NRL) create moments that add to a memorable experience for fans at this year’s 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final on Sunday, 1 October.

As an Official Licensee of the NRL since 2016, ’47 has worked with the NRL to find ways that celebrate and engage the NRL’s loyal fan base. On game day, each ticket purchaser will receive a complimentary piece of commemorative premium headwear courtesy of the NRL. The Luxor ’47 MVP, a signature ’47 silhouette, is the event’s Official Supporter Cap.

As part of the Pre-Game show, '47 has produced two commemorative giant pennants which will take the field lifted by staff, creating a breathtaking display that honors both the Melbourne Storm and North Queensland Cowboys. Fans will be asked to wear their caps for a special photo opportunity with fellow supporters.

'47 has also developed another official headwear style, the Premiership ’47 MVP, to honor the winning team. This semi-curve cap will be available straight after the game and will be sure to be a favorite style of players and fans alike.

The significance of pennants dates back to ’47’s founding in namesake year 1947, when twin brothers Arthur and Henry D’Angelo got their start selling sports memorabilia on the streets outside of Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Electrified by the energy of fandom, the brothers grew a passion to evolve that single street cart into the global brand it is today.

"We're thrilled to contribute to the experience of the 2017 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final. This is a high-energy event with some of the greatest fans in the world,” said Steven D’Angelo, co-founder at ’47. “As NRL supporters become further acclimated to our brand, we hope to continue creating memorable experiences that show our appreciation for the sport and its loyal community.”
