Women's Rugby League is currently the fastest growing sector of Rugby League with over 180,000 girls and Women playing Rugby League across Australia in Schools and Clubs.

The Female pathway continues to develop with the annual Interstate Challenge (NSW v QLD) and the Affiliate States Championships (VIC,SA,NT,WA) providing a true National pathway to the World Champion Jillaroos.

With the introduction of the Auckland 9's in 2015 to the Female High Performance calendar, integration with Touch Football and the annual All Stars match, Women's Rugby League is establishing itself as a sport for all and the future has never been brighter.

Women's Rugby League Milestones

  1. 2016 Rugby League World Cup Announcement of the Womens Rugby League World Cup to be played alongside the Mens World Cup in 2017.
    Double Header ANZAC Test match is billed as a Double Header for the first time alongside the Kangaroos match.
  2. 2015 Major Jillaroos Sponsor Harvey Norman signs on as the first ever major Jillaroo's sponsor
    Auckland 9's The Jillaroo's play a 3 match series vs the Kiwis at the 2015 Auckland 9's. the matches were broadcast for the first time attracting over 500,000 viewers
    Participation Growth Participation rates hit new heights with a 20% increase in club participation rates.
    Anzac Test The ANZAC Test was broadcast on FTA TV for the first time into Sydney
    Dally M Female Player of the Year Jenni – Sue Hoepper was awarded the first ever Female Player of the Year award at the Dally M's.
    Affiliate States Championships A new Women's tackle championships was held in the Affiliate States with players eligible for selection to the Jillaroo's making it a true National pathway.
    National Pathway Two players are selected for the first time from WA for the Jillaroos extended squad
  3. 2014 Participation growth Club participation hits a new high with a 31% increase in female club participation.
  4. 2013 Participation growth Female Participation starts to explode with 20% growth in 2013.
    2013 World Cup The fully funded Jillaroos win the World Cup for the first time ever.
