First the Maroons claimed their seventh State of Origin series victory in a row and now all three Queensland teams are in the NRL top eight looking to consolidate their position and battle it out in the final series.
Tonight on NRL Daily we check in with all three Queensland clubs and take you inside their camps to see how they are preparing for the run home. Cowboy Aaron Payne, Bronco Ben Hannant and Titan David Mead each join us for a chat about their team’s performance.
Fresh from announcing his retirement at the end of the current season, Cowboys veteran of 213 games Aaron Payne believes the Cowboys are primed for a big finish, with memories of past finals inspiring them to go further in 2012.
Despite losing to the Bulldogs, Payne says the Cowboys are still confident. “We know we have improvement in us in both in defence and attack,” Payne says.
“I think regardless of the result against Manly our hopes of winning a grand final won’t be effected. It doesn’t change our mindset if we win or lose because we think we can win the premiership.”
Titans flyer Mead discusses the secret behind the turnaround in form for the Gold Coast, while we ask hard-running Broncos forward Hannat if he believes Origin is to blame for the Broncos' fall from grace over the past month of football.
