Local Gold Coast students and young job seekers are set to benefit from the Rugby League All Stars Learn Earn Legend! Job Expo to be held at the Burleigh Bears League Club on the eve of the annual Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars match.

With over 60 exhibitors already registered for the event on Friday, February 3, from 10am-3pm, the Expo is expected to present hundreds of real opportunities and career options to those who attend.

The NRL and the Federal Government have joined forces with leading Queensland businesses to host the Expo to promote employment, training and education courses to all young job seekers coinciding with the All Stars Festival.

NRL Director of Commercial and Marketing Paul Kind said awareness and support for the event has been building for weeks.

"The interest from local Queensland business, registered training organisations and Jobs Services Australia providers, as well as from the general public, has been very encouraging,” Kind said.

“As part of the All Stars Festival week, the Expo will bring hundreds of real opportunities and career options to local students and job seekers, and we’re expecting even more interest over the coming weeks.

"I’m encouraging everyone to come along, have a chat with the exhibitors and take advantage of the many activities on offer.”

Coinciding with the Learn Earn Legend! Indigenous All Stars Youth Summit which will see a group of 60 Indigenous students take part in a four-day seminar, the expo will be a one-stop jobs supermarket where job seekers and employers can engage face-to-face.

In addition to the careers exhibition, a number of local and government organisations will be in attendance to hand out information and showcase their products along with health organisations offering information and free health checks.

The All Stars Festival will commence at 3pm featuring junior Rugby League clinics, children’s entertainment, local music acts, One Community Ambassador appearances, Indigenous cultural art and craft concluding with the jersey presentation to the Indigenous All Stars.

Later in the evening the Festival will play host to an exciting showcase of Indigenous participation in Rugby League with the NACCHO Deadly Choices Interstate Challenge at Burleigh Bears’ Bob Singh Oval. This will see the QAIHC Southern Dingoes (QLD) play the AHMRC Mindaribba Warriors (NSW) with the winning team to be crowned the Australian Indigenous and Torres Strait champions.
