Melbourne appear to have drawn the scheduling short straw at this stage of the season and coach Craig Bellamy is not pleased about it.
The Storm will travel to face the Sydney Roosters in Saturday in what will be their fifth away game in the last six weeks.
It will also be the club's second five-day turnaround of back-to-back road games in that stretch.
The Storm returned home from Sydney on Tuesday following a 24-10 win over the Panthers and will be back at Melbourne airport Friday afternoon for their date with the third placed Roosters.
Despite the grueling travel schedule the Storm have managed to win five of those six games but the coach admits it has hardly been an ideal situation.
"I don't know if ridiculous is the right word," Bellamy said.
"We always talk about the care and welfare of our players but to put us through that, it's wrong.
"To have a five-day turnaround between away games is real tough but to have two of those in a month, or two in five games, is ultra tough.
"Hopefully it will be something that will be looked at in the pre-season and mightn't happen again."
An added frustration for Bellamy was the fact the trips to Penrith and Sydney were part of the delayed schedule released by the league in early July, minimising preparation time.
"We have had to plan pretty quickly," said Bellamy.
"We weren't happy then and we're not overly happy now but having said that, that's the way it's gone and we've tried to do it the best we can.
"Enough guys in our team have played enough big games to be confident whenever we go up there."
Saturday night's game against the Roosters will certainly be another big one, under the bright lights of Allianz Stadium.
Should the Storm win they would draw equal on points with the Roosters, and if the Panthers fall at Brooky to the Sea Eagles the Victorian side will find itself in the top four with one round remaining.
The Roosters cruised to a 32-12 win down in Melbourne in Round 13 but Trent Robinson and his troops will not need reminding it was against a Storm side missing Billy Slater and Cooper Cronk.
Both teams are playing their best football at the business end, each dropping just one of their past five games, and the clash of the heavyweights at 7.30pm on Saturday night looms as the match of the round.
