This time four years ago, Kenny Bromwich remembers exactly where he was sitting and exactly what he was thinking.
His Melbourne Storm teammates were about to win the 2012 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final and Bromwich's thoughts immediately turned to his own future aspirations, the same ones that will become a reality this Sunday.
"I was in the squad then and I was behind the bench watching the boys play," Kenny told NRL.com.
"It was good to watch them, and I always wished that I could be a part of that but now I finally get the opportunity to run out there with the big bro and the rest of my brothers in the team and I really can't wait to just get on and get into it."
Not only does Bromwich get to live out his fantasy but he gets to do it alongside his older brother, Jesse.
"It's massive, we dreamed of doing something like this when we were younger playing in our backyard, so to finally be able to do something like this is a dream come true," Kenny said.
The Bromwich brothers have been fantastic in 2016, with Jesse taking out the Dally M Prop of the Year Award while Kenny made himself one of Craig Bellamy's most influential players off the bench.
Following last Saturday night's preliminary final win over the Raiders the brothers went to their parents' house on Sunday, and that's when their dream scenario became a reality.
"There were a lot of celebrations [on Saturday night] but I guess it didn't sink in for a while. It really sunk in [on Sunday] when I went over to my parents' house," Jesse Bromwich told NRL.com.
"They were pumped, my dad was just pumped that me and Kenny get to do this together, and he wouldn't miss this for anything."
"They were over the moon, they said quite a bit and were just really happy. Mum gave us a hug and a kiss and now we're just trying to sort everything out so they can come up on the day and watch," Kenny added.
As the pair eventually came down from last weekend's high they both went straight into preparation mode, although Jesse knows what to expect and is just thankful for the chance to participate in another grand final.
"For me personally I'm a bit older now, I was just young and bouncing off the walls to do anything but I'm a bit older now and I can really enjoy the week and just savour it," Jesse said.
"It's a really important week, not many people get to do this and this is my second time, so I'm just going to really enjoy it."
Kenny's view on Sunday's showpiece differs from his brother's however, with the 25-year-old just trying to prepare like normal, although he knows how hard that could be.
"I'm trying to prepare normally for the game but at the same time enjoy every minute of it, because these opportunities don't come too often, so I'm trying to do that but also prepare properly how I usually would," Kenny said.
