Brisbane Broncos centre James Roberts.

The Brisbane Broncos will challenge the contrary conduct charge against centre James Roberts at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night.

Roberts was charged after appearing to kick the back of Titans forward Ryan Simpkins during Friday night's elimination final at Suncorp Stadium.

Roberts would have been suspended for one match had he entered an early guilty plea to the charge, and risks a one-match ban if found guilty at the judiciary.
