The Wests Tigers have finished off their 2017 Downer Auckland Nines campaign with a surprise 17-11 win over the previously undefeated Broncos.

The left boot of Luke Brooks was on song early as his deft grubber set up Watson Heleta for the opener before he slotted the sideline conversion to give the Tigers a 6-nil lead.

The joy was short-lived as NRL hopeful Jaydn Su'A busted several tackles and then offloaded to a flying Darius Boyd for a bonus-zone try.

Brooks was at it again minutes later as his pin-point kick found a flying Kevin Naiqama to help the Tigers reclaim the lead.

The Tigers halfback forced back-to-back line dropouts in the second half to keep the blowtorch to the belly, and the pressure told as Brooks turned Sauaso Sue inside for the match-sealing bonus zone try.

Corey Oates pegged one back for the Broncos with two minutes remaining but it was too little too late.

Wests Tigers 17 (Watson Heleta, Kevin Naiqama, Sauaso Sue tries; 2 goals) def. Broncos 11 (Darius Boyd, Corey Oates tries; 1 goal). Half-time: 10-7
