Boyd Cordner crossed for a try against the Bulldogs in their semi-final clash.

Star Sydney Roosters second-rower Boyd Cordner has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, keeping him at the Tricolours until at least the end of 2018.

The 23-year-old rep player won the 2015 Jack Gibson Medal as the Roosters' player of the year last season and said he was delighted to stick with the club.

"I love the Roosters. I've been with the club since I was 16 years old and this is my home," Cordner told roosters.com.au

"I've made a lot of my best mates here and from the coaches to the office staff, it feels like family and I couldn't see myself playing anywhere else.

"I'm just really excited to know that I'll continue to work on my game with the coaches we have here, and be a part of the team."
