Titans front-rower Luke Douglas has been ruled out of Round 1 through suspension, one of two players charged by the NRL Match Review Committee from the weekend's NRL trials.

Douglas will miss the Titans' season-opener against the Knights for his grade one careless high tackle on Parramatta counterpart Daniel Alvaro, with a prior non-similar offence in the past two years and 75 carryover points meaning his early guilty plea has resulted in a one-match ban. Despite the suspension, Douglas will be free to play in any further trials for his club as his charge was below a grade three.

Sea Eagles prop Brenton Lawrence also accepted the early plea for a grade one dangerous contact – head/neck charge, but won't miss any game time for his challenge on Matt Prior.

No players were charged from the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars fixture.
