A fifth Burgess?
No South Sydney fans, Rusty hasn't signed another unknown brother from England.
This Burgess won't be spotted on the field. In fact, the fifth Burgess is the lady behind the lives of Luke, Sam, George and Tom.
Julie Burgess, the mother of the Burgess quartet, is more than happy to cheer her boys on from the sideline.
Having banged her lip up from "kissing her boys too hard" following the Rabbitohs' preliminary final win over the Roosters, Mrs. Burgess is simply content in knowing South Sydney get a chance of playing in grand final.
"It's just the satisfaction of knowing everything the boys worked for, throughout the year and throughout the pre-season and now in this really tough time in the finals, has all fallen into place," Burgess tells NRL.com.
"They're finally into a grand final which is what we have all dreamed of.
"Luke played in a grand final for the Leeds Rhinos a few years back and that was amazing but this is going to be super special because all of my boys are playing for the same club."
Mother Burgess uses 'we' when referring to the Rabbitohs, and who can blame her?
From the 20 men named in Michael Maguire's team for Sunday's clash against the Bulldogs, Julie has raised one-fifth of the squad.
Call it a mother's intuition but Burgess didn't even fear a third consecutive preliminary final defeat would eventuate, even when the Roosters took an early 12-0 lead last weekend.
"I wasn't happy but I never doubted them so I think deep down I knew we were going to come back and win," Mrs Burgess said.
"We have been in this situation of [losing preliminary finals] for two years. It has been horrible when people have said we have choked. We haven't choked. We just didn't quite make it but we've certainly made it this time."
Never one to forecast she'd uproot her life from England to support her four boys making a name for themselves in the south of Sydney, it will be the final game she'll get to support Sam wearing the cardinal and myrtle of the Rabbitohs.
While she is devastated about the matter of losing the "feel-good factor" of Sam who is moving back to England to take up three year deal with rugby outfit Bath, she is ultimately happy with the family's accomplishments at the Bunnies.
"Doesn't it show what can happen when you believe in something and you commit to something?" Burgess mused.
"I think that's what we have done with this team. It means everything to all of us."
