The NYC Roosters recorded a 34-20 win over the Bulldogs on Thursday night.

The Roosters have avenged their Round 11 loss to the Bulldogs with a convincing 34-20 win over the blue and whites at Allianz Stadium on Thursday night.

Seven tries were scored in an entertaining first half before the Tricolours ground it out after the break to notch their ninth win of the season.

Canterbury's loss was further soured by the sending off of No.9 Joseph Tramontana for dissent after he was initially sent to the sin bin for a professional foul.

The Roosters got off to the dream start with Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck putting on a nifty in-and-away to cross in the corner inside five minutes.

The lead wouldn't last long as Marcelo Montoya punished a Grant Garvey error from the restart to level the scores with his 15th try of the season.

There would be no shortage of points as the Bulldogs went back-to-back with prop Lachlan Lee breaking clear from near halfway to dive over, although replays showed he had lost the ball in the process of scoring.

It became clear that defence was going to be optional when Lachlan Lam crossed for the game's fourth try after just 15 minutes before Jarred Anderson scooped up a loose ball from the next set to make it 16-12 for the Tricolours.

Having seen his teammates on the right have all the early fun, Roosters left winger Bernard Lewis got his name on the scoreboard and then saved one at the other end after Jerry Leasi looked set to score following a 50-metre burst.

The Roosters wouldn't be so lucky five minutes later as a beautifully-weighted pass from Lachlan Lewis released Montoya to send the Bulldogs winger over for his second of the night.

Trailing 22-16 at the break, the last thing the blue and whites would have wanted to see was a mistake from the kick-off, but that's exactly what happened when Lewis fumbled the restart.

It was an error they'd live to regret as Tuivasa-Sheck started the second stanza the same way he started the first with a try off a perfectly-placed kick from Lachlan Lam.

The lead blew out to 18 points after 50 minutes when Grant Garvey schemed his way over from dummy-half for his 11th of the season before Jack Gibbons pegged one back for the Dogs to give them a sniff.

That's as close as the blue and whites would get with Tramontana's late send-off cruelling any chance of a fightback.

The win sees the Roosters jump back into the top four for the time being while the Bulldogs remain in 13th spot.

Roosters 34 (Johnny Tuivasa-Sheck 2, Lachlan Lam, Jarred Anderson, Bernard Lewis, Grant Garvey tries; Jesse Marschke 5 goals) defeated Bulldogs 20 (Marcelo Montoya 2, Lachlan Lee, Jack Gibbons tries; Adam Keighran 2 goals) at Allianz Stadium. Half-time: 22-16 Roosters. Sent off: Joseph Tramontana.
