Brad Fittler had some instant success with the Roosters after taking over as caretaker coach in 2007.
Rugby league fans desperate for an extra hit of footy in the lead up to the 2014 Grand Final are being encouraged to get out and support a live NRL-themed show at Sydney's The Star casino on the next two Tuesday nights.

The show will feature former players Brad Fittler, Eric Grothe Jnr and Joel Caine, as well as comedian Vince Sorrenti, and plenty of special guests.

Segments of the show will be hosted on NRL.com the day after, but Fittler said the best way to enjoy the event was to get down there in person.

"You can expect a few laughs, you can expect a bit of live music, a good bit of footy. There's a bit of a cooking segment on there – we're just trying to create a live show based around the naming of the teams," he said.

The show, NRL Tonight, will be held at The Star's 24/7 Sports Bar, and will run for around an hour from 8:30pm on Tuesday the 23rd and Tuesday the 30th of September.

"The boys will put a stack of energy into it it'd be good to get down there and support the game and support a good show, if you're looking for something to do on Tuesday night," Fittler said.

The show will break down the team lists for the weekend's Preliminary Final or Grand Final teams, judiciary news and feature interviews with rugby league players and personalities.
