Former Australian Schoolboy Nathan Davis may have played his last game for the Titans with Gold Coast coach Neil Henry admitting that his future at the club is "clouded".
The last time Davis was spotted at the Titans' training facility at Parkwood was playing golf with half Ashley Taylor a fortnight ago and he has not participated in any training sessions for the past two weeks.
With William Zillman likely to miss Saturday's clash with Newcastle a player of Davis's ability would have been handy but Henry is resigned to being without the 21-year-old for the foreseeable future.
"Nathan has had some time off," Henry said on Friday. "It's a case where he was struggling a bit up here.
"His family is from Sydney and his partner's family are from Sydney so at the moment he's not playing football at the club and at the moment his future's a little bit clouded."
A talent who came through the junior grades at Parramatta and who was once likened in stature to Greg Inglis, Davis made his NRL debut for the Titans in Round 1 against Newcastle last season and played a total of eight games, the last of which was in Round 16 against Canberra where he suffered a horrific lower leg injury.
He dislocated and broke his right ankle in the 22nd minute against the Raiders but had worked his way back into contention for Round 1 by lining up for the Titans in both of their trial games against the Eels and the Warriors.
