GIO Cup: Erindale v Endeavour

Erindale College will play their first GIO Cup match on home turf today against travelling side Endeavour Sports High School at Northbourne Oval, Canberra.

Erindale are looking to win their first points after two close rounds while Endeavour is focusing on continuing their winning streak.

Matthew Adams, Erindale coach, said being at home is not a huge advantage for his Canberra side and they are just looking at being competitive.

“I don’t think it’s any real advantage that we are at home,” Adams said.

“We are just looking at completing our sets we are just hoping to play competitive footy against Endeavour.”

Endeavour coach David Howlett said his team have been working on their nerves since their last win against Matraville Sports High when the boy’s let their opponents get off to an early lead.

“It was such a long build up to our first game that quite a few of our boy’s had issues with nerves,” said Howlett.

“With our first game out of the way we hope everyone focuses a bit more on the job this time.”

Tom Doyle and Jesse Cobb will also make their debut for Endeavour today.

Kick-off is 2pm.
