Patrician Brothers College Blacktown are set to do battle with Endeavour Sports High in their 2012 title defence in the first of this year’s GIO Schoolboy Cup semi-finals today at St Marys League Stadium, St Marys.
And despite a 32-6 victory in last year’s final Patrician Brothers who are wary of Endeavour Sports High are preparing for a tough match.
“Both sides are used to winning and have defeated quality teams to reach the semi-finals,” Patrician Brothers Coach, Greg Beacroft said.
“The day will come down to attitude and which team is more up for the challenge.”
“This year is a new challenge with a different team and it is very difficult to win the competition two years in a row, so we will just have to prepare as best we can and hopefully that will be good enough,” he said.
David Howlett, Endeavour Sports High coach believes that his 2012 runners up will have a substantial challenge against Patrician Brothers but have been working hard on improving each game.
“We know how good Patrician Brothers Blacktown are, they have amazing depth,” he said.
“We haven't played to our full potential yet and have been working on a number of issues.
“Everyone has worked hard and we have made steady improvement throughout our pool games and we are hoping that trend continues.”
Kick-off will be at 1:20pm at St Marys Stadium.
