Rugby League will celebrate Harmony Day the ‘Hazem El Masri’ way next Saturday (March 23) when the NRL Bulldogs Legend and One Community Ambassador hosts a free day-long festival of footy and fun at Parry Park in the Canterbury-Bankstown district on Saturday 23 March.
The morning will kick-off with a league tag competition and demonstration games including former players, local council staff and NRL identities, which will run alongside multicultural food stalls, on-stage performances, amusement rides and a petting zoo.
The festival party will continue right throughout the afternoon when the day becomes all about the kids, with free Rugby League skills clinics and plenty more carnival fun.
The community will also be involved on the big stage with cultural entertainment provided by from local school children involved in Indigenous, Maori, Chinese, African and Lebanese acts and dance groups.

This inaugural event will be in the same week as Harmony Day; - a day of cultural respect held nationally each year on 21 March and managed by the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
The event has also been well supported by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship, Canterbury and Bankstown City Councils, the Bulldogs, NRL and One Community.
