The NRL will today launch a stunning television campaign to kick-off a Men of League Heritage Round that will feature some of the Telstra Premiership’s most anticipated encounters.

A remix of the game’s celebrated 2008 Centenary campaign, the commercial features additional vision of Rugby League legends and classic moments ahead of a blockbuster Round 6 that kicks off on Friday, April 12, with the Broncos hosting the Cowboys and the Roosters tackling the Bulldogs.

The following day, the Knights play the Panthers, the Raiders clash with the Warriors and the Rabbitohs face the Storm, while in Sydney on Sunday, April 14, Rugby League will honour two of its most famous Grand Final encounters.

The Sea Eagles and Sharks clash at Brookvale Oval will highlight the unforgettable 1973 Grand Final between the two clubs while the Wests Tigers–St George Illawarra match at the SCG will celebrate 50 years since the 1963 Grand Final between the Dragons and Magpies famous for the iconic Provan-Summons ‘Gladiators’ image.

The round concludes with the Sunday evening clash between the Titans and the Eels on the Gold Coast.

“Heritage Round will be a really special week for the game and a time to highlight the amazing work of the Men of League Foundation,” said NRL CEO, Mr Dave Smith.

“The round of matches ahead is really exciting and it’s a perfect lead-in to the start of the representative season.”

Men of League Heritage Round recognises the game’s proud history and raises awareness and much needed funds for the work the Men of League Foundation does to assist those from the Rugby League family who have fallen on difficult times.

The Foundation provides assistance and support to players, coaches, referees, officials and administrators from all levels of the game, as well as members of their families and the broader Rugby League community.
