Queensland celebrate a try in Origin III.

Maroons prop Josh McGuire says he has no regrets for a tweet he posted following Queensland's series-clinching win in Brisbane three weeks ago.

The 26-year-old wrote "losers have meetings, winners have parties" after the Maroons made it 10 wins from the past 11 series with a 26-16 win at Suncorp Stadium on June 22.

The bench forward said he didn't feel any extra pressure following the social media jibe, and let his footy do the talking with 99 metres and 42 tackles off the bench in the Game Three defeat at ANZ Stadium.

"I don't take it away at all," he said when asked if he regretted posting the tweet.

"There was nothing personal. I made a comment – it probably wasn't the best timing – but it is what it is. I stand by what I said."

The Blues had some fun of their own after the Game Three win, sending out a similar tweet before taking it down.

The Broncos prop said he had no issue whatsoever with the banter, telling media that NSW had every right to enjoy their victory after what had been an enthralling contest.

"It's all fair in love and war. It's rugby league, it's State of Origin. They deserve to celebrate their win tonight," he said.

"It's rugby league, you can't take offence to that. At the end of the day it's a game and we're out there having fun. I get paid to do something I love so it is what it is – just a bit of fun."

McGuire embraced what was easily the most heated game of the series, explaining Wednesday night's contest was just a typical Origin encounter.

Two players were sent to the sin bin, there were 16 penalties blown, and there was plenty of niggle from both teams throughout the 80 minutes.

"It was Origin," he said. "You can't really explain it if you haven't been out there experiencing it.

"For me, nobody knows what it's like unless you've performed and gone out there and witnessed it and felt it and lived it. It was a very emotional game and we knew they didn't want to come out and lose 3-0.

"Take nothing away from them, they played a tremendous game.

"We were under the pump, and I thought we had it there in the last two minutes but their class shone through out on the edge and Jenko (Michael Jennings) put the icing on the cake for them."
