Award-winning Industry Fund, Intrust Super, today confirmed their continuation of naming rights to the Intrust Super Championship through to the end of 2018.

Intrust Super is the naming sponsor for both the Queensland and New South Wales State Cups and first signed on as the naming partner of the State Championship in 2016.

The match this weekend will be the fourth Championship played on NRL Grand Final day.

Intrust Super Chief Executive Brendan O’Farrell said he was delighted to extend the partnership through to 2018.

"Intrust Super has supported grassroots rugby league for almost a decade via the Intrust Super Cup in Queensland and more recently, the Intrust Super Premiership in New South Wales," Mr O'Farrell said.

"These competitions provide important opportunities for community engagement within the game and extends pathways for players into the NRL.

"We are proud to be continuing our partnership of the Intrust Super Championship and we wish both Grand Final teams the very best for the match this Sunday."

This year’s Grand Finalists feature the PNG Hunters (from the QLD Intrust Super Cup) and the Penrith Panthers (from the NSW Intrust Super Premiership).

This will be the Hunters first appearance in the Intrust Super Championship and the Panthers second appearance in three years.

NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo said Intrust Super had been integral to the growth and popularity of both State competitions, together with the Championship Grand Final.

"Intrust Super has been a committed partner over many years and is engrained in two very important competitions for rugby league overall," Mr Abdo said.

"Both State competitions have once again had successful seasons and have been enjoyed by thousands of fans, not to mention both competitions producing some spectacular football along the way.

"It's fantastic to have Intrust Super involved in fostering pathways for our players and I look forward to continuing to promote the partnership together."

The 2017 Intrust Super Championships Grand Final will kick off at 1:35pm this Sunday at ANZ Stadium.
