He is on the verge of joining an elite club boasting just two other members but Roosters centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall remains unsure as to whether his future at Bondi will stretch into a 10th season.
When Kenny-Dowall lines up in the centres against the Storm in Round 7 of the Telstra Premiership on Saturday night, he will do so knowing one more try will see him reach 100 tries for the club, a feat achieved only twice in the Roosters' proud 107-year history.
Anthony Minichiello (139) and Bill Mullins (104) – two legends of the Tricolours – are the only men to have reached the mark and Kenny-Dowall is confident that his name will soon sit alongside them.
"We've got 20 rounds to go so I should be sweet!" Kenny-Dowall told NRL.com. "I'll just take every game as it comes and hopefully a try will come soon.
"I'm aware of it now. You get told a lot when you start getting closer, so the club's made me well aware of it.
"It's very special. The club's got a great history and with the calibre of players that have gone through the club it's a privilege to be a part of the club and to be part of Easts history.
"I'm pretty proud to have been part of such a great club."
Overlooked by the Warriors as a teen, Kenny-Dowall's path to the NRL was one built on self belief as he and his father left New Zealand so that he could pursue his rugby league dreams in Sydney.
More than a decade later, the 27-year-old will reach the 200-game milestone for the club with 18 more games in 2015, but he said he is unsure whether he will add to that next year.
Off contract at the end of the year and reportedly attracting interest from English Super League clubs, Kenny-Dowall is hoping to use an extended stint back in the centres to earn a new contract either with the Roosters or elsewhere.
"I'm not sure yet. I've just got to play my best footy week to week and hopefully the rest looks after itself," said Kenny-Dowall, who has played 12 Tests for the Kiwis.
"I've got to let it all play out and I guess time will tell. There's a lot going on around the club at the moment so just take each week as it comes and try and play some good football.
"You can't afford to let it affect your football because that's when you let it get the better of you. If you just concentrate on what you can control and playing football then that's all that really matters."
After starting his career with the Roosters on the wing, Kenny-Dowall has played 113 games since 2010 in the centres but was forced to shift out one position after Blake Ferguson was given the all clear to make his return to the NRL.
Ferguson's long-term foot injury, suffered in Round 4, has allowed Kenny-Dowall to return to his favoured position but he conceded that heading back to the wing did take some fine-tuning.
"It took a lot of adjusting to my preparation into the pre-season but that was what was best for the team and I'm just happy to be a part of such a great club and part of such a great team," he said.
"I'll definitely do what's best for the team and I've found myself back in the centres so I'm trying to make the most of that now.
"Obviously I started my career off on the wing but the way that a winger defends now in the game is a lot different to when I started out my career."
And of his 99 career tries to date does he have a favourite?
"Definitely the Wests Tigers one," he said, referencing the extra-time stunner he scored in the Qualifying Final against the Wests Tigers in 2010. "It's hard to pick one but probably the one in the Grand Final [2013 against Manly] and the Wests Tigers one in 2010."
