The Rabbitohs paid a heavy price for their 36-14 win over the Dragons at ANZ Stadium in Round 20 of last season.

Superstar fullback Greg Inglis, who scored one of their seven tries, attempted a shoulder charge on Dragons forward Dean Young that went wrong. Young was hit in the head and concussed. Inglis was reported and subsequently charged with dangerous contact, and was suspended for three games.

The Rabbitohs kept their charge towards a top-four spot going with the win, which was never in doubt. They led 16-4 at halftime and had cleared out to 26-8 by midway through the second half.

Rabbitohs five-eighth John Sutton was a standout with his clever playmaking. Winger Nathan Merritt typically took full advantage of the attacking opportunities out wide, scoring three tries.
