Wests Tigers vice-captain Chris Lawrence has been named captain of the 2016 NSW KARI City Origin side, which features 10 debutants.

Penrith are heavily represented with five Panthers players in Josh Mansour, Tyrone Peachey, Leilani Latu, Reagan Campbell-Gillard and Bryce Cartwright all selected, while the Wests Tigers (Lawrence, Kyle Lovett, Curtis Sironen, David Nofoaluma) supplied four players.

Sea Eagles forward Jake Trbojevic was initially named, but failed a fitness test and has been replaced in the squad by Tigers winger Nofoaluma.
