Eels second-rower Manu Ma'u crossed for a try in his side's Round 24 win over Manly.

After a barnstorming performance against the Sea Eagles on Sunday afternoon, Eels enforcer Manu Ma'u has praised his side for their huge upset victory.

"It was a really gutsy victory, it was bad weather but we just went up the middle and came up with the result," Ma'u said.

"They were pretty tough, we knew their middle would be tough, we just had to back ourselves."

The Kiwi second-rower also said both sides played the conditions similarly, despite Parramatta seeming to play more within their means than their opposition.

"We played pretty similar to them," he said.

"We knew what was coming especially having DCE and Kieran Foran it was pretty dangerous, we just had to back ourselves and we did really well I think."

Ma'u also said he was happy with his personal form, and added that Parramatta have been better than their results have suggested in recent times.

"I've still got a lot to learn, I'm still learning the game but I'm proud of my performance tonight," he said.

"We're a better team than what's been going around the past few weeks we just haven't come away with the result."
