Merrin sidelined with knee injury

Scans have revealed Trent Merrin will be sidelined as a result of a knee injury suffered against the Warriors in Auckland.

Merrin suffered a high grade medial collateral ligament tear, which does not require surgery, but will see the Panthers forward miss six to eight weeks of the competition.

Warriors halfback Shaun Johnson also injured his knee in that match and is also expected to miss six to eight weeks.
