The NRL today announced the appointment of Rebekah Horne as Chief Digital Officer.

Ms Horne joins the NRL from Network Ten where she has been Chief Digital officer for three years.

Previously, she has worked in the UK and US markets as well as with some of Australia’s leading media & technology companies including Nova Entertainment Australia, Fox Interactive Media, My Space Australia and My Space International and Optus.

ARL Commission Chairman, John Grant said digital and social media were already playing a crucial role in engaging Rugby League fans.

“We expect our fans to increasingly engage with Rugby League content – including accessing live games, highlights, tipping, ticket purchases and much more – through our digital platforms,” Mr Grant said.

“More than nine million fans now follow the NRL through the NRL Telstra digital network and social media so we are determined to be at the leading edge in providing digital content on our platforms anywhere and any time.”

Ms Horne will take up the role on February 29.
