NRL Casualty Ward: RTS confirms ACL fears; Haas back on deck

Warriors superstar Roger Tuivasa-Sheck has played his last NRL game after being ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury suffered in Saturday’s match against the Dragons.

The 33-year-old winner of the IRL Golden Boot in 2019 and the NRL's Dally M Medal in 2020 confirmed fears of the injury on his Instagram account.

“That’s my footy for the year. ACL confirmed. Tough to accept but the season goes on. We got something special going. Big love for all the messages,” wrote Tuivasa-Sheck, who was set to play for Samoa at RLWC2026 before joining Wakefield Trinity.

The injury happened just 11 minutes into Tuivasa-Sheck’s 158th appearance for the Warriors and the 242nd of his NRL career.

It’s the second ACL setback for the Warriors within a week after halfback Tanah Boyd was struck down early in the Magic Round match at Suncorp Stadium.

NSW Blues playmaker Mitch Moses will miss Origin One after scans revealed he had suffered a minor hamstring strain at training on Monday.

Casualty Ward By Club

The latest setback for Moses comes after he missed the second and third games of last year's series due to a calf injury suffered at training in the lead-up to Game Two.

In 2024 the Eels star missed Game One due to a foot injury before returning for Games Two and Three to help steer the Blues to a series victory.

Moses will be replaced at five-eighth by Ethan Strange, who makes his Origin debut.

The Sharks have lost halfback Nicho Hynes to a calf injury but lock Cameron McInnes (ankle) is back on deck to face Manly.

The Broncos welcome back superstar prop Payne Haas (knee) for his first game since Round 7 while back-rower Brendan Piakura (knee), back-rower Jack Gosiewski (concussion) and outside back Grant Anderson (knee) have all been named to face the Dragons.

Some big ins at Wests Tigers also with skipper Api Koroisau back from suspension, fullback Jahream Bula returning after three games out with a shoulder injury and lock Alex Twal overcoming a knee injury.

The Eels get livewire fullback Isaiah Iongi back from the syndesmosis injury he suffered in Round 4 but forward leader Junior Paulo is facing eight weeks on the sideline after undergoing an arthroscopic procedure for his right knee due to chronic injury.

At the Panthers, gun back-rower Liam Martin is good to go after five games on the sideline with a knee injury.

Meanwhile, Rabbitohs veteran Adam Elliott and rookie Talanoa Penitani joined the club's growing injury toll after failing to finish last Sunday's match in North Queensland.

Elliott, who was sidelined for the first two months of the season by a nagging calf injury, was assisted from the field midway through the second half at QCB Stadium with a knee problem.

He was joined on the sideline by Penitani, who suffered a hamstring injury as he raced into the clear in search of his third try in an eventful NRL debut for the brother of NRL stars Tiana and Natasha.

The Bulldogs will be without back-rower Jacob Preston for 6-8 weeks after he suffered a broken forearm against the Storm and has had surgery.

Meanwhile, Wests Tigers centre Taylan May will join the rehab group following an injury in the second half of the Magic Round fixture against the Sea Eagles.

May suffered a right shoulder ligament injury and is facing 3-5 weeks out.

Roosters winger Daniel Tupou was taken from the field in the seventh minute of the game against the Cowboys in Round 11 and scans confirmed a left calf strain.

The veteran winger is working closely with the club’s medical staff, with his availability to be guided by his progress.

Fellow Rooster Cody Ramsey failed his HIA in Round 11 and entered the concussion protocols. He makes his return against the Storm.
