Nine of 16 clubs have had membership growth year on year, with the Eels, Raiders, Sharks, Storm and Tigers cementing record membership years.

The boost in memberships has been well supported by the NRL’s ‘Fan Relationship Management Centre’ (FRMC), with almost 10 per cent of members signed up by the team.

The FRMC has been in place since December 2014, supporting clubs in their sales and promotional efforts to maintain and attract new rugby league members.

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg applauded the hard work and new benefits that clubs and the FRMC were delivering for members across the board.

"It is wonderful to see many people working so hard towards increasing membership across the game," Mr Greenberg said.

"Having passionate and loyal members for all of our clubs has been a focus of the NRL’s over several years and it has been heartening to see steady growth in that time, culminating in the latest figures.

"It is also particularly encouraging to know that almost 10 percent of club members have been signed up by the NRL’s Fan Relationship Management Centre.

"This is one area of the game we will continue to work with the clubs to grow."

NRL club memberships are still available, with 11 rounds of the season and the Telstra Premiership Finals Series remaining.
