NRL COO Suzanne Young explains what the NRL is doing to stop domestic violence.

NRL Chief Operating Officer Suzanne Young has resigned to take up a new post in the financial services industry.

Ms Young said today she also needed to take time to help care for her father who is ill.

As a result, she said she will be leaving the NRL to take up a part time role in the financial services sector.

Ms Young said that, given her father’s health issues, she could not commit fully to the demands of a full season of Rugby League.

She said her new role offer the flexibility she needs going forward.

"It has been a great experience to be part of an organisation like the NRL and I want to thank the clubs, States, player groups and everyone else I have worked with over the last 15 months."

ARL Chairman John Grant said Ms Young had taken on a new and different role at the NRL and had put in place strategies and policies which will serve the game well into the future.

"Suzanne has worked with the Commission to develop frameworks around risk management and governance and has played a particularly important role in lifting the profile of women in Rugby League," Mr Grant said.

Ms Young will finish in the role next month.
