There will be plenty of fresh faces on show for the Storm at this weekend's Nines, but how many will make the cut for Round 1? Read more

The Sharks announced on Thursday morning that Ben Barba would not re-join the club and instead pursue a career in Europe. Valentine Holmes (WFB, $301,000) suddenly looks like a great cut-price option at the back if handed the No.1 jersey as expected. Read more

 


After spending time in the centres and at five-eighth during 2016, Souths coach Michael Maguire has confirmed captain Greg Inglis (WFB, $421,000) will remain at fullback this season. Read more

Still on the Rabbitohs and it is no clearer as to who will start at hooker in Round 1, with Robbie Farah (HOK, $435,000) and Damien Cook (HOK, $322,000) continuing to jostle for the No.9 jersey. Maguire also remained tight-lipped whether the player who misses out will start from the bench. Read more

The Red V might be a valuable source of Fantasy talent in 2017, with Dragons coach Paul McGregor claiming he won't hesitate on selecting a pair of rookie playmakers in Round 1 if he thinks they're up to the challenge. Read more

It appears Shaun Johnson (HLF, $484,000) won't be playing big minutes at Eden Park this weekend, with the star halfback to have his game time managed by new coach Stephen Kearney. Read more

We'll get an opportunity to monitor some Fantasy-relevant players during the NRL All Stars fixture, with Paul Vaughan (FRF, $388,000), Akuila Uate (WFB, $177,000), Damien Cook, Mitchell Aubusson (2RF/CTR, $355,000) added to the World All Stars squad; while Bevan French (WFB, $296,000), Tyrone Roberts (HLF, $371,000) and Chris Smith (2RF, $143,000) have all been included in the Indigenous All Stars side. Dragons back-rower Tyson Frizell (2RF, $438,000) has been ruled out of the Auckland Nines, but will be available for selection in the Charity Shield and Round 1. Read more

As we suggested might be the case last week, Ryan Hoffman's time as Warriors skipper has come to an end, with the club announcing Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (WFB, $286,000) as his replacement – a man who could be in the majority of NRL Fantasy squads come Round 1. The club also revealed the signing of Tohu Harris from the Storm for 2018 onwards. Read more
