Thirty-four-year-old winger Lote Tuqiri has dismissed suggestions Souths threw him a lifeline and insists he has plenty to offer the red and green in 2014.
In 2014, for the first time, player positions are not set in stone in Holden NRL Fantasy. Players often adapt to a new position in rugby league – Paul Gallen went from inspirational back-rower to match-winning prop for NSW; Greg Inglis shifted from a star centre to a star fullback for the Rabbitohs – and this season NRL Fantasy reflects that. If a player is shifted into a new position for good in the real game, they will become available in that position in Fantasy.

Four players have already been given dual position status in Fantasy following the early trial matches. Most notably, Josh McCrone has spent the off-season training at hooker for the Canberra Raiders, with young gun Mitch Cornish set to get his shot in the halves, while John Sutton had been set to move from five-eighth into the back row for South Sydney to make way for boom pivot Luke Keary (although Keary's shoulder injury at the Auckland Nines could put those plans on hold).

Along with the positional updates, a batch of new players have also been made available in NRL Fantasy – including Rabbitohs recruit Lote Tuqiri, promising Sharks big man David Fifita and Brisbane's Nines breakout player Kodi Nikorima.

Don't forget to check out these cheap players before locking in your Fantasy squad for the start of the season.
