An old favourite went close to the century as injuries struck down three superstars. Here are the success stories, flops and talking points to come out of this week's NRL Fantasy action.

Winners

All-action Rabbitohs lock Sam Burgess is one of the most popular Fantasy buys around and he showed why on Friday night with a dominant two-try performance against the Wests Tigers for 96 Fantasy points.

He wasn't the only big man to go big this week with Manly's Martin Taupau continuing a superb run of form with 89 after back-to-back 60+ efforts while Penrith's Isaah Yeo was sensational in scoring 80 in the Panthers' stunning comeback over the Warriors and Apisai Koroisau starred in Manly's clash with Brisbane with 76 points.

New Fantasy favourites Paul Vaughan (74) and Angus Crichton (71) also impressed, along with members of the old guard like Elijah Taylor (70), Josh Hodgson (69), Andrew Fifita (66), Paul Gallen (63) and Cameron Smith (60).

In the backs, Blake Ferguson (79) had a field day on the wing for the Roosters against Parramatta, Cody Walker (70) bounced back into form ahead of the upcoming bye rounds with two try assists against the Tigers, and dual-position centre/second-rower Sione Mata'utia (64) scored twice to lead Newcastle to a memorable win over the Raiders.

Losers

Dale Copley started the season brightly in his new role at the Titans with back-to-back 50s but it's been lean pickings since then, with scores of 9, 16, 4 and now -3 off the bench in the Gold Coast's stunning win over Melbourne – thanks to two missed tackles and an error.

Joey Leilua's dire recent form continues with just 8 against his old club Newcastle, while Roger Tuivasa-Sheck joined him this week with 9 in the Warriors' loss to Penrith. Josh Addo-Carr (3) and Kurt Capewell (7) were also members of the single-digit club this week, along with injured trio Ryan Simpkins (3), Luke Bateman (3) and Jacob Saifiti (5).

It was another bad week for injuries generally, with Tom Trbojevic (55) facing a long stint on the sidelines with knee and ankle injuries, Corey Norman (22) facing a month out with an ankle injury, and Jarryd Hayne (13) picking up a minor knee problem late in the Titans' win.
