82,758 fans attended the 2015 NRL Telstra Premiership Grand Final at ANZ Stadium.

The NRL today thanked fans for their outstanding support of the Finals series, and particularly yesterday’s Grand Final.

CEO Dave Smith also paid tribute to the Cowboys and Broncos who delivered one of the great Grand Finals.

Mr Smith said the crowd of 82,758 at ANZ Stadium yesterday means the 2015 Finals series was the most attended on record.

He said the Grand Final attracted a peak television audience of 4.48 million on the Nine Network  – the second biggest Grand Final audience ever.

“We could not have dreamed of a more spectacular and exciting end to the season, “ Mr Smith said.

Mr Smith also thanked Cold Chisel for their pre-game entertainment – which was the number three program on television last night.

“We want to thank our fans, players, clubs and everyone involved in Rugby League  for their support throughout 2015 – they have been remarkable.”
