Go ‘back to the future’, savour a sausage sanga or two and enjoy a feast of afternoon football at the retro-themed 2014 NSWRL Grand Final Day extravaganza, to be held at Allianz Stadium on Sunday, September 28.
The 2014 NSWRL Grand Final Day triple treat promises to be a great day out for footy fans young and old, two decades after the last NSWRL Grand Final at the venue – and the best news for fans is tickets are retro-priced too.
Be part of a week-long celebration of rugby league and witness history as three grand finals – the VB NSW Cup, the Ron Massey Cup and the Sydney Shield – are contested in more than six hours of excitement, entertainment and athleticism.
Kick-off in the first decider, the Sydney Shield Grand Final, will be at 10.30am. The Ron Massey Cup Grand Final kicks-off at 12.40pm, with the VB NSW Cup decider due to commence at 3.10pm.
The day of celebrations isn’t limited to the playing field though – there will also be a range of activities to keep the young and young at heart entertained. Included in the cost of admission are fan favourites like ‘pass the ball’, face painting, a jumping castle, mechanical bull, balloon artists, a petting zoo, a DJ blasting out old-school tunes and more. Finalists in Channel 9’s hit show The Voice, R 'n' B soul team ZK, are scheduled to perform the national anthem.
Fans will also be given an opportunity to meet their favourite NRL stars, have their photos taken with the State of Origin Shield and even run out onto the field and kick their own footy around at the conclusion of the VB NSW Cup Grand Final too.
Tickets to the 2014 NSWRL Grand Final Day are general admission only, with no reserved seating meaning great viewing positions can be obtained by early entrants.
This year’s VB NSW Cup is one of the most tightly contested in recent seasons, with just seven competition points separating teams ranked second to 10th. It’s a similar story in the Ron Massey Cup, with four teams still jostling for the minor premiership. In the Sydney Shield, the competition is desperately chasing the Peninsula Seagulls, who have won an incredible 20 of 21 matches this season.
Come along to this year’s 2014 NSWRL Grand Final Day, watch three great rugby league grand finals, and join in the afternoon-footy fun.
Tickets to the 2014 NSWRL Grand Final Day are now on sale, with entry just $10 for adults, $5 for children and $30 for families. To purchase tickets to the NSWRL Grand Final Day and be part of rugby league history, click here
