Untitled DocumentA spectacular laser show, fan parties and restaurant precinct will greet fans at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday night for Game I of the 2013 Holden State of Origin Series.
With a capacity crowd of more than 80,000 people to converge on ANZ Stadium for the opening match of the series, all fans are urged to plan their trip on public transport, arrive early and enjoy the pre-game festivities.

Both the Blues and Maroons supporter groups will stage pre-game parties while the ANZ Stadium precinct will roar to life with a host of bars, cafes and restaurants catering for fans of all ages.
ANZ Stadium Managing Director, Mr Daryl Kerry, said fans would experience “a giant State of Origin zone” when arriving in Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday night.
“The fun of Origin night will start early with more than 30 cafes, restaurants and bars in full swing throughout Sydney Olympic Park, while the Stadium itself will open at 5.45pm and will turn blue on the night with a laser light show in the precinct,” Mr Kerry said.
"Origin night is one of the great events on the Australian sports calendar and we encourage everyone to take advantage of the direct trains and major event buses, and to arrive early so as to make the most of the evening.”
As part of the festivities, the major sponsor of the NSW Blues, Victoria Bitter, is hosting a free event at Cathy Freeman Park, with ‘The Sheds’ function the official pre-match venue for Blues fans. The event is for people aged 18 and over.
‘The Sheds’ opens at 4.30pm with live entertainment and appearances from Blues Origin legends. To find out more and secure a free ticket to the event, log on to victoriabitter.com.au.
Maroons fans can also join in the pre-game celebrations with the Maroon Crusade hosting their pre-game function at All Phones Arena.
The all-ages event, being hosted by Maroons legend Gary Belcher, features live entertainment, Maroons legends player appearances and prize giveaways.

All match tickets to Holden State of Origin Game 1 include travel on public transport to and from ANZ Stadium on CityRail services, all regular route bus services across Sydney, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and Sydney Ferries services.
If you do not have a ticket to the game, you will need to purchase a ticket to travel on public transport. Remember to keep your ticket safe for your return journey home, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport.
Please note: an additional station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. If you are travelling from these stations, you will need to purchase a ticket.
Public Transport information: The closest CityRail station to ANZ Stadium is Olympic Park Station.
Direct services are running from Central and Blacktown stations to Olympic Park.
Direct services from Central are running every 10 minutes from 5.43pm to 9pm.
Direct services from Blacktown are running every 8 minutes from 5.39pm to 9pm.
Selected Blue Mountains Line services will make an additional stop at Lidcombe.
If you are travelling from other locations or before 5.39pm, take an Olympic Park service from Lidcombe Station, departing every 10 minutes.
Regular return services are running to Central and Blacktown stations until 12.30am.
The following extra services are running after the match:
South Line: departs Lidcombe at 11pm to Campbelltown stopping at Auburn, Granville and then all stations to Campbelltown.
Newcastle/Central Coast Line: departs Central at 10.45pm stopping at Strathfield, Eastwood, Epping, Hornsby then all stations to Newcastle.
South Coast Line: departs Central at 11pm stopping at Redfern, Wolli Creek, Hurstville, Sutherland, Waterfall then all stations to Dapto.
Please note that trackwork is taking place during this event: South Coast Line: buses replace trains between Bomaderry (Nowra) and Oak Flats.
Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses are running for the State of Origin game on the following routes to Sydney Olympic Park:
Route: 1A – Warriewood via Dee Why; 1B – Warriewood via Mona Vale; 2A – Glebe via Gladesville; 2B – Glebe via Hunters Hill; 3 – Marsfield; 4 – Maroubra; 5A – Castle Hill; 5B – Rouse Hill; 6 – Menai; 7 – Cronulla via Miranda; 8 – Dural.
Sydney Olympic Park Major Event bus services will start running between 3:50pm and 5pm, depending on the route. Return bus services will depart Sydney Olympic Park after the game, with the last service departing at 11pm.
Scheduled wheelchair accessible buses will travel on each route.
Sydney Buses: Sydney Buses services are running to a regular weekday timetable. Sydney Buses Route 525 operates between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
Ferry Information: Sydney Ferries services are running to a regular weekday timetable. If ferry services reach capacity, customers can take train services which regularly depart from Circular Quay Station.
ANZ Stadium is approximately 40 minutes’ walk from Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the stadium until 7.28pm
Due to the low tides in the upper Parramatta River, some ferry services will be replaced by buses between Parramatta and Rydalmere in the afternoon, so allow more time for your trip.
Road Information: Sydney Olympic Park Authority may close some local roads, but access to businesses and residences will be maintained. For more details please go to the Sydney Olympic Park Authority website.

CityRail: Central, Strathfield, Parramatta, Blacktown, Granville, Auburn, Lidcombe and Olympic Park stations are all wheelchair accessible.
Sydney metropolitan buses: Nearly all of Sydney metropolitan bus services are wheelchair accessible. Features of wheelchair accessible buses include wider doors and aisles, and space for two mobility aids such as wheelchairs, some ride-on scooters and prams or strollers.
Sydney Ferries: The entire Sydney Ferries fleet is wheelchair accessible via wheelchair accessible ferry wharves (pending tidal and safety conditions).
Metrobus and Liverpool Parramatta T-way Buses: All Metrobus and T-way bus services are low floor wheelchair accessible.
