1. James Tedesco
Fearsome at the back; set up Pearce's first-half try and scored a stunning solo try in the second that harked back to Jarryd Hayne's 2014 blinder. Massive 12 tackle busts and near on 200 metres. His goal-line defence and in particular his try-saver on Matt Gillet defied belief. 10/10.
2. Brett Morris
Injured early, but played great anyway. Class is permanent as they say. Can't he just play forever? 7/10.
3. Josh Dugan
Occupied about the only low-traffic channel on the field. Didn't do much wrong but was quiet in a game where his teammates starred. Late try-saver on Guerra was great. 6/10.
4. Jarryd Hayne
Did someone say 'big game player'? Awesome work almost set up a Brett Morris try, then scored a powerful one of his own to seal the game and gave opposite number O'Neill an absolute nightmare. Welcome back Jarryd. 9/10.
5. Blake Ferguson
Outjumped by Oates for the Maroons' first try but solid otherwise. Like his right edge partner Dugan, it was a quiet night with traffic headed elsewhere. 5/10.
6. James Maloney
Great support play for the game's first try, kicked well, and marshalled the game once his halves partner was rubbed out due to concussion. Owned it. 8.5/10.
7. Mitchell Pearce
A shower of early bombs were on point but his short attacking kicks were an issue. Helped set up the first try and supported for the Blues' second but was rubbed out by concussion early in second half. His doubters were neither vindicated nor silenced. 6.5/10.
8. Aaron Woods
Somewhat overshadowed by his fellow front-rower but his role in the Blues' early dominance was crucial. 7/10.
9. Nathan Peats
Crisp, clean service from dummy half. Rugged, belligerent defence. Massive work-rate through 80 minutes. Did everything his coach and fans asked. Made for Origin – he'll play plenty more. 9/10.
10. Andrew Fifita
A force of nature. Devastating. Immense. Destructive. Set up the opening try in a stunning opening stint, and scored a well-deserved try of his own in second half. The best game of his career, and that's saying something. 10/10.
11. Boyd Cordner
A potent 80-minute captaincy debut. The pyrotechnics of some fellow forwards stole the show but 151 metres and 37 tackles speaks to his determination. 8/10.
12. Josh Jackson
Brilliant first spell and solid at the end. Asked to perform unfamiliar middle role in attack early and never shirked the tough stuff. 7.5/10.
13. Tyson Frizell
Did nothing wrong but his mooted wrecking mission on Queensland pivot Milford didn't come to pass and was mostly kept quiet. Got through 32 tackles but his running game went missing. 5.5/10.
14. David Klemmer
Kept the momentum up when injected after just 18 minutes. You don't see 172 metres off the bench too often. 8/10.
15. Wade Graham
Made his presence felt as soon as he got on, helping create a try soon after. Big threat in attack with his passing on an edge. 7.5/10.
16. Jake Trbojevic
Got more minutes than he would have expected and made every one count. Looks a 10-year Origin player. At home from the get-go. 7.5/10.
17. Jack Bird
Played the last half hour, mostly filling in for Pearce at half. Focused on his running game and busted five tackles. Arguably the best utility in the game right now. 6.5/10.
