The Penrith Panthers NYC have pulled off a terrific 20-18 comeback win at Centrebet Stadium on Monday night.

Down with just a minute to go Nick Mataia scored for the young Panthers to give his men the most unlikely of victories.

Both teams scored early tries, but it was the Dragons who dominated the first stanza. A late try to Chris Knight before the half-time siren bought the sides closer, but Harry Siejka's wayward boot meant the Penrith men trailed 12-8 at half time.

A different Panthers side came out in the second half with Vaipuna Tia Kilifi scoring a strong individual try to get his men back in the game. A Dragons try put them back in front with 30 minutes to play, and it seemed to be enough until Mataia went over with just seconds on the clock.

It was a terrific game, and an important win for a valiant Panthers side. Vaipuna Tia Kilifi was the standout performer, leading from the front and bagging a double in the process.
