Roosters halfback Mitchell Pearce against the Broncos in Round 26.

With just over a week until the club's 2017 campaign gets underway, the Sydney Roosters have announced that Mitchell Pearce has signed a two-year extension, keeping him with the Tricolours until at least the end of 2019.

As he prepares to contest his 11th season of NRL, the 27-year-old halfback spoke of the pride he felt to represent the Roosters.

"The Roosters mean a lot to me. The club has been a big part of my life, and there's been a lot of loyalty," said Pearce.

"There's such a good group of people at the Roosters and I'm proud to represent the club. I've made some of my closest mates here, and I feel like I've got unfinished business," he added.

Sydney Roosters Head Coach Trent Robinson added: "Mitch is a Rooster and this is his home, so its great news for our Members and everyone at the club to know that he will continue to play his role with the Roosters in the coming years."
