Scans have revealed the full extent of a shoulder injury suffered by Penrith Panthers centre Waqa Blake in the Round 26 defeat to Manly.

Blake has been diagnosed with a large labral tear, requiring him to undergo a season-ending shoulder reconstruction early next week.

The severity of the injury means the 22-year-old will miss out on the NRL Telstra Premiership elimination final against the Sea Eagles on Saturday, and also representing Fiji at the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.

Blake finishes the 2017 NRL season with seven tries, eight try assists and 13 linebreaks from 23 games played.
