"My mum, Janet Evans, was Miss Southern Suburbs when she was younger and for as long as I've known they've always been around Suburbs footy club. Not so much every weekend in the canteen and things like that but selling tickets, doing their bit, sponsoring junior teams; Mum still sponsors a junior team up there. I'm not only fortunate that my wife enjoys rugby league but my two sisters and my mum are fanatical. My eldest sister, Riley, she's been watching me since I was five years old and there's not many games that she has missed."

When I had a few surgeries she was always there looking after me, waiting on me at the hospital which is what a mother does I guess but nothing goes unappreciated and can't thank her enough. She doesn't get to too many of my games these days but when she does come it always puts a spring in my step knowing she's there."
