South Sydney Rabbitohs five-eighth Cody Walker is confident halves partner Adam Reynolds will feature against the Cronulla Sharks on Monday.
Reynolds injured his hamstring early in the second half of the Rabbitohs' 41-22 win over the Warriors in Round 23 of the Telstra Premiership.
While Walker is happy to take on chief playmaking duties, he is confident it won't come down to that.
Reynolds was the star of the show in his 45-minute stint against the Warriors, where his amazing short kicking game produced three tries.
Reynolds has had jaw, neck and shoulder woes to contend with already in 2016, with the Rabbitohs remaining hopeful his latest setback won't see him miss any further game time.
"We're pretty confident Adam will play. I haven't seen him over the past couple of days so I haven't seen him with the physios or anything like that, but we're preparing for him to play," Walker told NRL.com.
"We all know what Adam can do and he showed that in the first half against the Warriors. We're looking forward to building on that against the Sharks.
"We're very blessed to have John Sutton who is able to shift into the halves but we're looking forward to having Adam out there."
Walker's 17 games in his debut campaign has been one of few positives for the Rabbitohs.
While conjecture surrounded Walker and his future at the club throughout June and July, the 26-year-old is buoyed to remain with the 2014 premiers for the next three seasons.
But with the Rabbitohs languishing at 13th on the NRL Telstra Premiership ladder, he's found it hard to focus on his individual achievements.
"It's disappointing with the results that we have had. I'd much rather team success than individual success," he said.
"I'm happy with how I've gone sure, but I'm pretty disappointed with how we've gone as a whole.
"The last two weeks we have shown that we can play the footy that we want to play, as we did at the start of the season.
"I'm very happy to stay here for the next three years. Redfern Oval is amazing, we train on this ground and I just love this area. My family love it too so this is home for me."
