Bryson Goodwin is confident of retaining his place in the South Sydney team despite the impending return of Kirisome Auva'a.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have announced the signing of former Roosters and Sea Eagles outside back Michael Oldfield and re-signed veteran Bryson Goodwin.

Having spent the past two years with the Catalans Dragons, Oldfield will be looking to add to his 25 NRL games, while Goodwin will continue his solid role in the outside backs in the NRL.

"Bryson has been one of our most consistent players over the past 12 months and he has given his all to any job we have put in front on him," coach Michael Maguire said.

"Michael will also add experience to our backline and will create more competition for spots which is always a good thing at a football club.
