After his heroic performance on Sunday, Rabbitohs centre Dylan Walker will be sweating on scans for a possible fractured left hand on Monday.
The Kangaroos three-quarter injured his hand in the ninth minute of Sunday afternoon's 20-6 victory over Wests Tigers, but played on and scored two tries in a starring performance.
But Walker will be racing the clock to be ready for his side's clash against Parramatta on Friday night.
"I'd like to say he's no doubt but we have to wait and see what the scans show. He has got a sore hand so we'll wait and see how that comes up," coach Michael Maguire said.
"He definitely was going to get back out there. He's learnt that and he's grown in himself to be able to do those sorts of things for the team which is a great sign for a young kid."
The injury was similar to the broken thumb he suffered against the Warriors in Round 13 last year, where he also nabbed a double.
"He's had a bit of practice there. He did that last year when we played against the Warriors over in Perth," Maguire said.
"We're not quite sure what he's done. It could quite possibly be a break, but he'll tape it up for Friday and see how it goes."
Walker, who will come in contention for a Blues berth after making his Australian debut in last year's Four Nations, paid tribute to his teammates for helping him manage the injury through the game.
"I didn't want to come off. I didn't want to let the team down. I just tried to do my bit, tried to do the best I can. I'm really thankful for the boys. They really backed me up and really helped me through the game," he said.
"I played through it last year, so I knew that I could try and do it again. I really had to have the boys rally before me and get stuck into my ear."
Maguire also praised the performance of skipper Greg Inglis, who scored a try and saved a certain one on opposite fullback James Tedesco.
"There were a lot of special efforts throughout the game," he said. "I thought Greg, as he does, showed some great character there when he had to tackle Tedesco twice, managed to get it out of the in goal, go down the other end and create something special with the team.
"The boys individually at times stood up for each other and showed the character required today."
