Canberra Raiders club legend and 1994 premiership-winner Ken Nagas is set to be named to make a one-off comeback for the club at this month's NRL Auckland Nines, the club has anounced.
The 41-year-old has been in full training, but still has to have his appearance approved by the NRL.
Nagas debuted for the Green Machine in 1992 and retired in 2002 still aged just 29 due to knee problems. If he plays he will be one year younger than Brad Fittler and one year older than Steve Menzies were when they each featured in last year's inaugural tournament.
Nagas said he's looking forward to getting back out onto the field and once again wearing the famous Green Machine jersey.
"I'm really excited about being back in training and hopefully I'll get the opportunity to play for the Raiders again," Nagas said. "I've been working really hard on my fitness for the Nines and hopefully I can add something to our young squad."
Nagas scored 59 tries in 142 club appearances, scoring twice in the 2004 Grand Final win, and also represented NSW.
