The NSWRL together with Souths Cares, the Australian Technology Park Sydney Limited (ATPSL) and the NRL's One Community will again showcase Rugby League’s unique ability of bringing communities together at the 2012 U17 ATP Redfern Harmony Nines.
The 2012 tournament, which will be held at Redfern Oval and the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE), is in its second consecutive year and it continues to celebrate the diversity and pride in our game and the wider community.
The development competition will host 150 players from the Under-17's age group who have not participated in the elite Harold Mathews and S.G Ball competitions.
Roy Wakelin-King, Managing Director of ATPSL, said he is eager to build on the success of last year’s event.
“Last year’s Harmony 9’s carnival really showed us how sport can bring so many different parts of the Sydney and NSW community together,” Wakelin-King said.
“It will be fantastic to see this year’s players enjoying themselves and celebrating their backgrounds and culture whilst promoting unity and inclusion.”
As well as the action on the field, the Harmony Nines is very much a community event with plenty of activity to entertain the family. The day will feature activities for the whole family including cultural performances from participating teams, music, food, sports clinics, a jumping castle, NRL player and ambassador appearances and many more.
