1Brett Stewart

Club: Manly Sea Eagles

Position: Fullback

Will need to be more involved in attack in Sydney to trouble the Maroons defence.

2Jarryd Hayne

Club: Parramatta Eels

Position: Wing

The Blues will look for another stellar performance from Hayne this time around.

3Michael Jennings

Club: Penrith Panthers

Position: Centre

Learnt a valuable lesson in Game 1 when his sin-binning cost NSW dearly.

4Josh Morris

Club: Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

Position: Centre

Will again need to be strong in defence to hold out Greg Inglis.

5Akuila Uate

Club: Newcastle Knights

Position: Wing

After having success down his side in Game 1 the Maroons will again target his wing.

6Todd Carney

Club: Cronulla Sharks

Position: Five-eighth

Could very well be the game breaker if he doesn't let his nerves get the better of him.

7Mitchell Pearce

Club: Sydney Roosters

Position: Halfback

I'm certain that the combination between Carney and Pearce will only lead to better things.

8Paul Gallen

Club: Cronulla Sharks

Position: Front Row

Will again lead from the front and inspire his troops to perform well.

9Robbie Farah

Club: Wests Tigers

Position: Hooker

Farah needs to be on the field for the full 80 minutes in Game 2.

10James Tamou

Club: North Queensland Cowboys

Position: Front Row

Another strong performance will see Tamou really cement himself as one of the game's premier young forwards.

11Glenn Stewart

Club: Manly Sea Eagles

Position: Second Row

Can be a game breaker and the Maroons will need to keep a close watch on him all night.

12Luke Lewis

Club: Penrith Panthers

Position: Second Row

Put in an excellent performance after losing the Panthers captaincy and will need to do the same for NSW.

13Greg Bird

Club: Gold Coast Titans

Position: Lock

Troubled the Maroons with his footwork at the defensive line in Game 1.

14Trent Merrin

Club: St George Illawarra Dragons

Position: Interchange

More time on the field will help Merrin get more comfortable with Origin football and allow his natural skills to come through.

15Aaron Woods

Club: Wests Tigers

Position: Interchange

He has the required maturity and temperament needed to step up into Origin.

16Ben Creagh

Club: St George Illawarra Dragons

Position: Interchange

Was kept under control by the Maroons in Game 1 and will need to provide more impact in Game 2.

17Anthony Watmough

Club: Manly Sea Eagles

Position: Interchange

After being overlooked in Game 1 Watmough must surely be at the top of the list as a replacement for Tony Williams.

1Billy Slater

Club: Melbourne Storm

Position: Fullback

Had a quiet game in the series opener by Billy’s standards, look out for a big game at ANZ Stadium.

2Darius Boyd

Club: Newcastle Knights

Position: Wing

Scored two tries in the opening match and was defensively strong. Steps up at this level.

3Greg Inglis

Club: South Sydney Rabbitohs

Position: Centre

Greg is the type of player you can throw the ball with nothing doing and he can create something out of nothing. Always causing problems for NSW.

4Justin Hodges

Club: Brisbane Broncos

Position: Centre

Will be looking to get more involved after limited opportunities in the opening game. Loves to get into dummy-half and chew up metres.

5Brent Tate

Club: North Queensland Cowboys

Position: Wing

Was one of the Maroons best in Game I. Always plays well for Queensland and will be a handful again.

6Johnathan Thurston

Club: North Queensland Cowboys

Position: Five-eighth

Will be expected to steer the team around once again. His freakish goal-kicking really came into play in the last match.

7Cooper Cronk

Club: Melbourne Storm

Position: Halfback

Will be much better for the run. Combination with Thurston is getting better and he will look to assert himself more in the second game.

8Matthew Scott

Club: North Queensland Cowboys

Position: Front Row

Will lead from the front for the Maroons again, arguably the game’s best prop.

9Cameron Smith

Club: Melbourne Storm

Position: Hooker

An absolute craftsmen, everything starts with Cam and he doesn’t stop in attack or defence. Slipped comfortably into the captain’s role.

10Petero Civoniceva

Club: Brisbane Broncos

Position: Front Row

Hasn’t and won’t ever let Queensland down. He will be looking for a big performance.

11Nate Myles

Club: Gold Coast Titans

Position: Second Row

Nate was Man of the Match in the opening encounter and got through a tonne of work. Paves the way for the backline to do their thing.

12Sam Thaiday

Club: Brisbane Broncos

Position: Second Row

Sam has plenty of strength and will look to attack an edge, but is just as comfortable in tight mixing it with the big boppers.

13Ashley Harrison

Club: Gold Coast Titans

Position: Lock

One of the best players on the field in Game I, Harrison is an 80-minute Origin juggernaut. Tackles his heart out and controls the middle of the field.

14Matt Gillett

Club: Brisbane Broncos

Position: Interchange

Will be hoping to build on limited opportunities. Can cover a wide range of positions with ease.

15David Taylor

Club: South Sydney Rabbitohs

Position: Interchange

Will be looking to replicate his form at the Bunnies, on his day he is one of the most damaging players in the game.

16Ben Hannant

Club: Brisbane Broncos

Position: Interchange

A strong ball-runner and one of the quicker play-the-balls lays the platform for Queensland’s backline.

17David Shillington

Club: Canberra Raiders

Position: Interchange

Will look to do damage when the other props need a rest. Big, tall and strong, Shillington will run into the teeth of the defence again and again.
