Souths halfback Adam Reynolds was injured against the Broncos in Round 8.

South Sydney halfback Adam Reynolds and prop George Burgess are set to return for their side's Round 2 clash with the Sea Eagles after the pair were promoted to the starting 17 in the team list update 24 hours prior to kick-off.

‌With both initially selected as part of a wider 21-man squad on Tuesday, Reynolds was named to start at halfback for Luke Kelly, while Burgess was added to the interchange for Dave Tyrrell.

Both Robert Jennings and Anthony Cherrington could still be added to the match day 17, with the two remaining in the squad as reserve players.

Reynolds was thought to be sidelined for up to the first four rounds of the Telstra Premiership season as he recovered from appendicitis, but joined in the captain's run on Friday and could now take his place at halfback against the Sea Eagles at Lottoland on Saturday evening.

Burgess was not in the Rabbitohs' first 17 for their Round 1 loss to Wests Tigers but has been added to the interchange with Tyrrell dropping out of the squad and Jason Clark promoted to the starting side.
